Rechtzeitig zu Weihnachten ist diese schräge, urkomische Satire, die 1983 am Tricycle Theatre in London uraufgeführt wurde, eine urkomische Neuinszenierung der größten Geschichte, die je erzählt wurde. Das gesamte Zweier-Ensemble unter der Leitung des “angesehenen Historikers und Schauspielers”, des künstlerischen Leiters Jeffrey Thespus Wimpole (Mike McAlpine) und seines kompletten Ensembles, des inkompetenten, äh, tapferen Assistenten Humphrey Dott, (Tom Zahner) bringen uns ihre Version der gesamten Weihnachtsgeschichte, mit Hilfe der “diva” Opernsängerin Mrs. Thomas, (Phillipa Thomas), einschließlich aller beliebten Figuren, Joseph, Maria und Erzengel Gabriel, Herodes, Gott und viele mehr.

Just in time for Christmas, this zany and hilarious satire first performed at the Tricycle Theatre, London in 1983, Patrick Barlow’s The Messiah, is a hilarious re-enactment of the greatest story ever told. The entire company of two, led by “distinguished historian and thespian”, artistic director, Jeffrey Thespus Wimpole, (Mike McAlpine) and his complete ensemble, the incompetent, er, valiant assistant, Humphrey Dott, (Tom Zahner) bring us their version of the entire Christmas story, with the help of “diva” Opera singer, Mrs Thomas, (Phillipa Thomas) including all of the best-loved characters, Joseph, Mary, and Archangel Gabriel, Herod, God and many more.
